وفي سكرات موته أخذ يوصي ابنه ''بايزيد'' بوصايا توحي في مدلولها بمدى صلاح هذا الرجل إذ يقول له: ''يا بني إن نشر الإسلام في الأرض واجب الملوك على الأرض فاعمل على نشر دين الله حيثما استطعت.. يا بني اجعل كلمة الدين فوق كل كلام، وإياك أن تغفل عن أي أمر من أمور الدين، وأبعد عنك الذين لا يهتمون بأمر الدين، وإياك أن تجري وراء البدع المنكرة .. يا بني قرب منك العلماء وارفع من شأنهم فإنهم ذخيرة الأمة في الملمات"
