إن من خصوصيات شعر الشباب دورانه حول الذات، ومحاولة اكتشافها، ومحاولة امتلاك رؤية خاصة للوجود في ظل القلق والبحث عن المجهول. وهذا ما يتجلى في عدد من قصائد هذا الديوان التي نجد فيها الشاعرة مع أفكارها وأحلامها وآمالها ونظراتها الخاصة في الوجود ليله ونهاره، طيره وزهره، وبحره وروضه، ولعل مما يلفت النظر في رموز الشاعرة هذا الإلحاح على الطير ذكرا ومخاطبة وتوقفا عنده، فهل الطير رمز للرغبة للانطلاق في هذا الكون واستكناه أسراره؟ وهل الطير رمز للعلم فهو دائم التجوال والنظر في الوجود؟ وهل هو رمز للبراءة والطهر والإيمان؟
