يقدم الكاتب صورة الآخر (الرجل الغربي) في السينما المصرية وقيامها بتقديمه بصورة سلبية للغاية لجأت فيها إلى كثير من التعميم والسخرية من صفات اشتهرت بها الشخصيات الغربية والعرقية مثل شخصية اليهودي البخيل أو البواب البربري كثير الكلام، وصورته الحقيقية من وجهة نظر الكاتب فيقوم بعمل مقارنة بينهما، كما تطرق المؤلف في كتابه إلى تحكم الأجانب في صناعة السينما قبل عام 1948 م، وإلى تعرض المسرح لقضية سيطرة الإمبريالية الأمريكية على الواقع العربي في عدد من الأعمال مثل ماما أمريكا، وإقدام الكثير من نجوم الفن على الزواج من أجنبيات.
