ميخائيل شولوخوف (Михаил Александрович Шолохов) هو أديب روسي ولد في 24 مايو 1905 لأب مزارع وأم أوكرانية وتوفي في 21 فبراير 1984. حصل شولوخوف على جائزة نوبل في الأدب لسنة 1965. و كانت روايته الفائزة بجائزة نوبل هي الدون الهادىء (رواية)، التي عربها عمر الديراوي ونشرتها دار العلم للملايين. في سنة 1998 صدرت روايته "الدون الهادئ" عن دار المدى للإعلام والنشر والتوزيع، بأربعة أجزاء، من ترجمة مجموعة من الأدباء العرب ومراجعة غائب طعمة فرمان. وأعادت طباعته سنة 2013. بدأ شولوخوف الكتابة وعمره 17 سنة. وأوّل كتاب نشره هو "حكايات الدون" 1926 وهو مجموعة قصص قصيرة. وفي عام 1925 بدأ روايته الشهيرة "الدون الهادئ"، وقد استغرق 12 عاماً في كتابتها، وكان عمله التالي رواية "أرضنا البكر" مكونة من جزأين وقضى 28 عامًا في كتابتها، وقد اعتبرت كتابات شولوخوف النموذج الأمثل للواقعية الاشتراكية.

ميخائيل شولوخوف (1905-1984) هو أحد كبار الكتاب المعاصرين، ومنح جائزتي لينين ونوبل. وروايته '' أرضنا البكر" تعرض لمرحلة ادخال التعاونيات في الزراعة وانتصار نظام الكولخوزات في الريف السوفيتي. وترجمت إلى 75 لغة وصدرت بأكثر من 30 مليون نسخة. لهذه الرواية قصة فريدة. في عام 1932 نشرت مجلة ((نوفي مير)) الكتاب الأول منها. الا أن اكمال روايته الشهيرة ((الدون الهادئ)) كان يتطلب بذل أقصى جهد من الكاتب، ولهذا أجل اكمال ((أرضنا البكر)). وابان الحرب الوطنية العظمى للشعب السوفيتي ضد الفاشية الألمانية، حين كان شولوخوف في الجبهة، سقطت قنبلة للعدو على بيت الكاتب واحرقت ارشيفه الخاص، فاحترقت أيضا مسودات الكتاب الثاني من ((أرضنا البكر)) بعد أن شارفت على الانتهاء. بعد الحرب اضطر شولوخوف الى البدء بكتابة الكتاب الثاني من جديد. ابتداء من العام 1954 بدأت فصول الكتاب الثاني من الرواية تظهر في الصحف والمجلات، وفي عشية العام 1960 تمت كتابة الرواية كاملة. على الرغم من البعد الظاهر للأحداث الموصوفة في الرواية عام 1930. عهد كلخزة الزراعة، حين ((شبت الحياة مثل حصان جامح أمام الحوائل العسيرة)) فإنها مفعمة بمشاعر وأفكار العصر.
