يتضمن هذا الكتاب مجموعة من المقالات التاريخية.. إنها عينة من مقالات حركة مصر الفتاة (الحزب الاشتراكي) في عامي 1950، 1951، التي زلزلت أركان النظام الملكي.. ولعبت دورا حاسما في التمهيد لثورة 23 يوليو والإطاحة بالملك.. والتخلص من الاحتلال البريطاني. وقد وقع اختيارنا على هذه المقالات باعتبارها المقالات التي استندت إليها محاكمات العيب في الذات الملكية لحبس أحمد حسين زعيم الحركة .. ونائبه المجاهد إبراهيم شكري.. إنها من ذلك النوع من المقالات التي يدفع كاتبوها الثمن من حريتهم. بل إن معظم هذه المقالات التي كتبها أحمد حسين هي التي استندت إليها النيابة في توجيه تهمة التحريض على حرق القاهرة لأحمد حسين، وذلك بإيعاز من الملك شخصيا، بعد أن رأى أن الوسيلة الناجعة للتخلص من أحمد حسين هي إعدامه شنقا بحكم محكمة.. وفي ظل الأحكام العرفية التي أعلنت عقب حريق القاهرة في 26 يناير 1952.
