Book Description
تتناول هذه الدراسة تاريخ الدولة الزنكية في الموصل وبلاد الشام من جانبه السياسي. والواقع أن أحداث التاريخ الزنكي شكلت دولة إسلامية في مرحلة من أشد مراحل التاريخ الإسلامي حرجا، إذ تعرض فيها العالم الإسلامي، في الشرق الأدنى، لهجوم أوروبي غربي عرف باسم الحروب الصليبية. كانت هذه الحروب تجربة خطيرة ومليئة بالحوادث والمحن، في الوقت الذي كان فيه المسلمون يمرون في حال تفكك، وبات من الواضح أنهم كانوا في أمس الحاجة إلى رجل قوي ينقذهم من حال الفرقة والانقسام، ويوحدهم تحت رايته، ويجمع طاقاتهم؛ قبل أن ينطلق بهم في خطى ثابتة نحو الجهاد، كما توضح الدور الهام الذي أداه الأمراء الزنكيون على مسرح أحداث الشرق الأدنى في القرنين السادس والسابع الهجريين.
