يبتغي هذا البحث الوقوف على الجهود الأولية لتأريخ طباعة القرآن الكريم في المغرب؛ فهارس ومؤلفات ومقالات، ثم الانتقال إلى طبع القرآن الكريم في المغرب؛ فهارس ومؤلفات ومقالات، ثم الانتقال إلى طبع القرآن الكريم بداياته وصعوباته مع تحليل دواعي ذلك، وأسباب التأخر فيه؛ بسبب تنكب بعض الحرفيين الأوائل والإقدام على طباعته، كما هو شأن بعض البلدان العربية والإسلامية الدانية من المغرب (مصر مثلا). وينصرف غب ذلك إلى محاولة لائحة ببليوغرافية للمصاحف المطبوعة حسب المؤسسات الصادرة عنها، والخلوص إلى ضبط مراحل طباعته ما بين أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وأوائل القرن الحادي والعشرين، بالوقوف على مرحلة البدايات إلى محاولة الانتشار، واكتساح ثقافة النسخ والمخطوطات، وانتهاء بمرحلة النضج والتنظيم، التي أصبح فيها للقرآن الكريم مؤسسة خاصة به.
