عاش كل منا يبحث عن الحقيقة، وفي طريقناوجدنا العديد من الأفكار التي استهوتنا وسكنتنا بما يكفي من قوة بحيث تؤثر علىمنظومة معتقداتنا. ومعذلك، وبمرور الوقت، انتهينا إلى استبعاد الكثير من الحقائق؛ لأنها لم تتحملتساؤلاتنا الداخلية، أو لأن 'حقيقة جديدة- متناقضة مع تلك الحقائق، كانتتتنافس بداخلنا في الحيز نفسه، أو ببساطة لأن تلك الحقائق لم تعد كذلك. وعلى كل حال، فإن تلك المفاهيم التي اعتبرناها مرجعياتنا لم تعد كذلك، ووجدناأنفسنا فجأة سائرين على غير هدى. فقد أصبحنا نقود دفة مركبنا؛ مدركين ما بأيدينامن إمكانات، ولكننا غير قادرين على رسم طريق موثوق فيه. وبينما أكتب ذلك، تذكرت فجأة حكاية (الأمير الصغير) للكاتب أنطوان دو سان – إكسبيرى: 'في أثناء رحلاته في الكواكب الصغيرة بالمجرة تقابل مع عالم جغرافي كان يدون في سجلكبير الجبال والأنهار والنجوم. أرادالأمير الصغير أن يسجل زهرته – التي كان قد تركها في كوكبه – ولكن العالم قال له :- نحن لا نقوم بتسجيل الأزهار، لأنه لا يمكن تسجيل الأشياء الزائلة.
