السياسة ضرورة من ضرورات المعرفة البشرية وهي ركن من أركان هذا الدين. وبالتالي ينبغي تحصيل حدّ أدنى من المعرفة بها، وهذا الحدّ الأدنى المطلوب هو باختصار: أولاً: امتلاك التصور النظري عن السياسة الإسلامية، أي معرفة الطرح الذي يتبنَّاه الإسلام في الممارسة السياسية وإدارة المجتمع. ثانياً: معرفة الدور العملي المطلوب من كل فرد في ميدان العمل السياسي، أي التعرف على الوظيفة العملية المتعلقة بالشأن العام التي تشكل جزءاً من الوظيفة الشرعية المشغولة بها ذمة المكلف بحكم التزامه وتدينه. ثالثاً: تحصيل حالة من الوعي على مستوى فهم هذا الدور العملي المطلوب، وذلك من أجل تشكيل حلقة وصل بين القيادة الإسلامية التي تدير الحركة الإسلامية وبين الأخوة الذين لا يفهموا توجهات هذه القيادة وبالتالي لا يمكن لهم تطبيقها بوعي وحكمة. وهذا الحدّ الأدنى ينبغي الجد في تحصيله وبذل الوسع في إبراء الذمة منه، وهو ليس حكراص على طبقة معينة من الناس. وفي هذا الكتاب بيان لكفية تحقيق هذا الحد الأدنى بشقه الثالث فقط، وفيه رد على بعض الأسئلة الأساسية في هذا الموضوع وهي: هل هناك سياسة في الإسلام؟ وإذا كانت موجودة فما هي تلك السياسة وكيف يمكن تطبيقها عملياً؟ وإلى أي حد ينبيغ الخوض في تلك السياسة؟
