هدأ زئير العواصف، وبدأ وابل المطر الساقط منذ عامٍ في التراجع رويدًا رويدًا حتى توقف تمامًا, امتلأتِ البحيرة التي جفَّت ويبست تربتها عطشًا لسنواتٍ وسنواتٍ, وانقشعت السحب الركاميّة عن محاصيل جُرفت، وأبنيةٍ تهدّمت، ومركب صغير متحطم, أمتعة وأوراق متناثرة هنا وهناك فوق سطح الماء الذي استقرَّت أمواجه أخيرًا, لتتهادى فوقه لافتة خشبيّة مسطّحة بين الحُطام خُطَّ فوقها بطلاءٍ أحمر قانٍ: محظوظٌ هو مَن يخرج من بلدتنا حيًا, أو على الأقل.. ليس بمجنونٍ!
