برنارد فيربير (بالفرنسية: Bernard Werber ) كاتب خيال علمي فرنسي (ولد في 18 سبتمبر 1961) في مدينة تولوز الفرنسية، وبدأ فيربيير الكتابة في عام 1990.
رواياته
يمزج اسلوبه في الكتابة بين عدة أنواع أدبية مختلفة، كالأسلوب الملحمي، أسلوب الخيال العلمي ووالأسلوب الفلسفي. في معظم رواياته، قام برنارد باستخدام نموذخ البناء القصصي نفسه، حيث يستعمل النص النثري بالتناوب مع الأسلوب العلمي. كما أن هناك العديد من أشكال الترابط في رواياته، فنجد شخصية ادمون ويلز في ثلاثيته الشهيرة النمل، موجودة أيضا في روايته مملكة الملائكة.
الرمزية في كتاباته
الرمزية في كتاباته واسعة جدا، فالحيوانات كالنمل والدلافين والفئران حيوانات ذكية، أو هكذا تظهر في كتاباته. كما أنه كثيرا ما يعود إلى رمزية الأرقام إلى أنه وفقا لأسلوبه في الكتابة، فإنه يحاول أن يعكس مرحلة من مراحل تطور النفس البشرية.

منذ عمر السادسة عشرة، ولج برنار فيربير (المولود سنة 1961 في مدينة تولوز) عالم الأدب. فكتب قصصاً قصيرة، وسيناريوهات، ومسرحيّات. وبعد أن أنهى دراسته في علم الجريمة والصحافة، عمل محرّراً في الصحافة العلميّة. أصدر سنة 1991 روايته الأولى (النمل) التي حظيت بنجاح منقطع النظير، وهو لم يتجاوز بعد الثلاثين من عمره. يقترح برنار فيربير في أعماله نوعاً جديداً من الكتابة الأدبيّة يدعوها “الخيال الفلسفيّ”، والتي هي مزيج من الخيال العلميّ والفلسفة والمعتقدات الروحيّة. يصبو فيربير إلى فهم مكانة الإنسان داخل هذا الكون عبر وجهات نظر، متعدّدة وغريبة، خارجة عنه: حيوانات، أشجار، آلهة قديمة، وحتّى سكّان محتملون من خارج الكوكب. تستقبل أعمال برنار فيربير بحفاوة ليس في فرنسا فحسب، وإنّما في العالم. غير أنّ ثلاثيةّ النمل -والتي تشكّل هذه الرواية كتابها الأوّل، إذ لحقها يوم النمل 1992، وثورة النمل 1996 -تبقى هي الجوهرة في تاجه الإبداعي، والسمة التي منحت تجربته النكهة الفريدة التي اختصّ بها، وألهمت كتّاباً آخرين.
