... ثم لوحت بالمناشير في الفضاء ورمتها فوق رؤوس الحشد حولها. هل تعلمون ما هي الحقيقة؟
الفقر، الجوع، المرض ... نحن نموت مرهقين ونحن معتمرون في الوحل، مخدوعون بينما يمتص الآخرون كل الفرح والفوائد حتى التخمة. وأسرعت توزع المناشير للناس المحتشدين. فأمسك بها دركي من ياقتها وهي تصيح: وحِٓدوا أيها الناس قواكم في قوة واحدة عاتية! وصاحت في وجه الدركيين: إنكم لا تثيرون إلا نيران الحقد عليكم!
وأمسك بها أحد الدركيين من عنقها وراح يخنقها فشخرت. وكانت المناشير تملأ الفضاء ويلتقطها الحشد الكبير لمعرفة الحقيقة التي من أجلها قتلت الأم.
