في هذه الرواية، يأخذنا الروائي علي سعيد عرفات في رحلة وجدانية حارقة تمزج بين السيرة الذاتية والمتخيّل الروائي. بين زوارق الفقد في غزة وصقيع المنافي في أوسلو، تتشابك مصائر ثلاث نساء (سلافة، وكاتيا وناستنكا وفاطمة، ورشا) حول حياة "خالد"؛ الرجل الذي يواجه محكمة وعيه الصارم ليدفع ضريبة الندم الأبدي.
إنها ليست مجرد قصة حب مفقود، بل هي تشريح فلسفي عميق لمفهوم الخيانة والمصادفة في زمن الحرب. الخيانة هنا لا تعني ميلاً لجسد آخر، بل هي تلك اللحظة القاتلة التي تترك فيها من تحب وحيداً يواجه ظنونه في منتصف العاصفة.
