بعد مدة ليست بالطويلة تكتشف جثة أخرى على الجزيرة الصغيرة. ولكن هذه المرة تمّ تشويه ظهر الضحية بما يعرف بنسر الدم وذلك بناءً لعادات قبائل الفايكينغ القديمة. في تلك الأثناء يشعر “جارتان” ممثل قاضي المنطقة، والذي أرسل للتحقيق في الجريمة، بأنه ينغمس في عالم مظلم وخطر من الرموز والأساطير والمنظمات السرية بحثاً عن القاتل.
