انقرضت الآريوسية فقط لأنها لم تعد تُشكل حزبًا منذ زمن. لقد انبثقت من نزعات دائمة في الطبيعة البشرية، وأثارت أسئلةً لا يمكن أن ينضب فائدتها أبدًا. و ما دام اللاأدريون والتطوريون بيننا، فلن تُترك ساحات معارك أثناسيوس القديمة صامتة. علاوة على ذلك، لا يوجد كاتب يربط بشكل مباشر بين عالم المسيحية التوتونية الجديد وعالم الوثنية اليونانية والرومانية القديم. لقد بدأت الآريوسية مسيرتها جزئيًا كنظرية مسيحية، وجزئيًا كرد فعل شرقي للفلسفة على إنجيل ابن الله. وعلى مدار ستين عامًا من التقلبات والجدل العاصف، ناضل اريوس ولم يخلو من النجاح، من أجل سيادة العالم. وعندما رفضته الإمبراطورية أخيرًا، لجأ إلى أتباعه من الأمم الشمالية، وجدد الصراع كرد فعل غربي للكبرياء التوتوني على إنجيل روماني.
