إنْ كانت بعض العلوم أكثر قدرة على التداخل من غيرها، فإنّ علمي الكلام والأصول من أكثر العلوم الإسلامية قدرة على ذلك؛ لذلك فإنّ الفصل التام بينهما من جميع الجوانب يُنظر إليه باعتباره من الإكراه المخالف لطبيعته، خاصّة وأنّ العديد من جوانب الاشتراك بينهما تتحد مع بعضها البعض كما توضّح ذلك في القسم الأول من البحث.
ما حدث في التداخل بينهما هو أنّ من أدخل الكلام في الأصول كان له تخصّص مزدوج، قدمٌ في الكلام والأخرى في الأصول، فقدّموا لعلمهم من معرفتهم في حالة الاستمداد، واتّخذوا لمعرفتهم من علمهم في حالة الإمداد، فلم يأخذوا لغريبٍ من غريب، ولم يستوردوا من غريبٍ لغريب.
