يتجلى محور الرواية حول الجدة جازية ومعاناتها وكفاحها في خضم معارك المجتمع والأطماع الاستعمارية . وكيف قاست من غياب زوجها حمو في احداث غريبة دون ان يترك لها اي اشارة أثناء الثورة التحريرية، واتهامه بالتعامل مع المستعمر من جهة ومع المجاهدين من جهه اخرى ، وكل ذلك تقف جازية وقفة جازيات الجزائر أمثال لالا فاطمة نسومر التي لقبت بـــجندارك الجزائر و حسيبة بن بوعلي وجميلة بوحيرد وأمثالهم كُثر .ربما لم يُخلّدهم التاريخ كلهم ولم يسمع بهم أحد، ولكن تضحيتهم مشى بها قطار تحرّر الجزائر على أجسادهم. وفي الاخير تظهر الحقيقة من باطن الارض ويرد الاعتبار لسليلة الشهداء الجدة جازية.
