الاردن فهو جزء من هذا العالم الذي يعاني من التغيرات المناخية المتسارعة ففي العقوجد الثلاثة الاخيرة اصبح التغير في المناخ يؤثر بشكل كبير على وادي الأردن والمتعارف عليه بسلة الغذاء الاردينة، مما يهدد الأمن المائي والغذائي والزراعي في المنطقة.
تشمل الآثار الرئيسية انخفاض هطول الأمطار، وارتفاع درجات الحرارة، وزيادة التبخر، مما يؤدي إلى تفاقم ندرة المياه والجفاف. وهذا بدوره يؤثر على القطاع الزراعي، أكبر مستهلك للمياه في الأردن، ويؤدي إلى انخفاض إنتاجية المحاصيل مما يثر على الحياة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية
لذا لا بد من رصد هذه التغيرات المناخية ووضع الحلول المناسبة التي تساهم من التغيرات المناخية وكذلك وضع مقتلاحات للتكيف معها.
