هذا كتابٌ ألَّفتُ فيه بين ثلاثِ قصائدَ مشهوراتٍ في الحِكَمِ والمواعظ والوصايا: الأولى: نُونِيَّةُ أبي الفتح البُسْتِيّ (400هـ)، التي مطلعُها: «زِيَادَةُ المَرْءِ فِي دُنْيَاهُ: نُقْصَانُ»، والثانية: تائيَّة أبي إسحاقَ الإِلْبِيرِيّ (460هـ)، التي مطلعُها: «تَفُتُّ فُؤَادَك الأَيَّامُ فَتَّا»، والثالثة: لاميَّة أَبِي حفصٍ ابن الوَرْدِي (749هـ)، التي مطلعُها: «اعْتَزِلْ ذِكْرَ الأَغَانِي وَالغَزَلْ».
وقد جمعتُ هذه القصائدَ من مصادرَ ذكرْتُها عند بداية كل واحدة، ورتَّبْتُها على تواريخ وفَيَاتِ أصحابها، وعَرَّفتُ بهم تعريفًا مختصرا، وجعلتُ متنَ كُلِّ قصيدة بعد ترجمة صاحبها مرقَّمةً ومُفَصَّلَةً تُعين على الحفظ لمن يريد ذلك، وأخذتُ بعد كلّ متن قصيدةٍ في شرحها شرحا بسيطًا مختصرًا يعين على معرفة ما فيها من معانٍ، ثم ختمتُ شرحَ كلِّ قصيدة ببيانِ زُبْدَتِها وما تحويه من معانٍ كُبرَى إليها تؤوب كلُّ معانيها الصُّغرَى.
