تناولت هذه الدراسة حلقة من حلقات التاريخ العربي الإسلامي ودور قبيلة كندة التي امتد أثرها في كثير من البلدان المفتوحة، حيث تتناول الدراسة الفرع المشهور (السكون من بني الاشرس) وانتشروا في كثير من البلدان منذ الفتح الإسلامي لمصر وشمال إفريقيا والاندلس. واختصت الدراسة بإثبات نسب السكاكن او السكون إلى كندة الذين يعيشون اليوم في كل من الجزاير ومالي وموريتانيا، وتربطهم علاقات نسب وقرابة في الاقطار المذكورة، ويرجع نسبهم إلى الصحابة من قبيلة السكون الكندية الذين قدموا من حضرموت شرق اليمن مع موجة الهجرات العربية في صدر الإسلام .
