يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد مفهوم الزمن الروائي وحوارية الأصوات والعلاقة التي تجمعهما، فيتناول بالدراسة والتحليل موضوع الحوارية الزمنية واختلاف وجهات النظر مع اختلاف أنواع الأزمنة، بواسطة الشخصيات التي تشكّل الحوارية داخل الرواية من خلال التفاعل الذي يحصل بين هذه الأصوات. وكيف وظّفت الروائية خولة حمدي عنصر الزمن في روايتها "أن تبقى" وطريقة عرضه في المتن الروائي باستخدام مختلف التقنيات السردية.
وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى نتيجة هامة مقتضاها أنّ المدونة قد احتوت على تقنية الحوارية لكن بشكل جديد، فكانت عناصر السرد وخاصة الزمن تتفاعل وتتحاور مع بعضها داخل الخطاب الروائي.
