"الإبرة المجوفة" هي واحدة من أشهر روايات موريس لابلان. وفيها يجد اللص النبيل الشهير وسيد التنكر أرسين لوبين نفسه يلعب لعبة القط والفأر المكثفة مع المحقق الهاوى الشاب الماهر بشكل مدهش إيزيدور بوتريليه. كما يظهر الأعداء القدامى المحقق انيمار والمحقق الإنجليزي الشهير هولملوك شيرز (الذي أعيد تسميته بهذا الاسم لتجنب انتهاك حقوق النشر). و يطارد لوبين أغلى شيء سنحت له الفرصة لسرقته على الإطلاق: الإبرة المجوفة، التي تخفي كنزًا لا يمكن اكتشافه وسرًا كان ملوك فرنسا يتناقلونه منذ عهد يوليوس قيصر.
