نحاول في هذا الكتاب تسليط الضوء على موجهين في غاية الأهمية: الموجه الأول ما تعلق بقضية الاستشراف (التنبؤ بمستقبل الشعر العربي والإفريقي)؛ إذ التنبؤ بالمستقبل يطرح تساؤلات مهمة من صميم فلسفة النقد المعرفي: كيف نعرف ما يُعرف مستقبلا؟ كيف يستطيع العقل إنتاج معرفة تصورية غائبة؟
أما الموجه الثاني فهو يفحص فكرة جوهرية بالدراسة والتحليل تجسدت في مبدأ mind style (أسلوب العقل)؛ بمعنى الطريقة التي ينزع المؤلف إلى أن يكتب من خلالها، أي البحث في البنية الذهنية وفاعليتها التشكيلية لنسيج النصوص الشعرية، من خلال تطبيق الأدوات والآليات الإجرائية للنقد المعرفي في دائرة شمولية تحتضن العديد من المعارف.
