Book Description
كان يوسيفوس أحد أهم مؤرخي العصور القديمة، ومن أشهرهم أيضًا. عاش خلال القرن الأول الميلادي، وكتب المؤرخ الروماني اليهودي بإسهاب عن التاريخ اليهودي في القدس المحتلة من قبل الرومان، ومحنة اليهود في الأرض المقدسة. و قام بتوثيق الحرب اليهودية الرومانية الأولى المدمرة، التي دمرت القدس عام 70 م، وكان من أوائل المؤرخين الذين ناقشوا المسيحية. و تشمل أشهر أعماله الحرب اليهودية (حوالي 75 م) وآثار اليهود (حوالي 94 م).
و تمت كتابة آثار اليهود من وجهة نظر اليهود وكانت مخصصة للجمهور الروماني. و في هذا العمل الضخم، يناقش يوسيفوس تاريخ المنطقة واليهود، بدءًا من العهد القديم وحتى الحرب اليهودية.
