صدرت هذه الرواية في طبعتين؛ الأولى عام 2005، والثانية عام 2014 عن الهيئة العامة للكتاب بالقاهرة. تدور الرواية عن الهجرة غير شرعية، من خلال ثلاثة فتية يحاولون السفر إلى إيطاليا، طرحت الرواية الأسباب التي ترغم الشباب على الهجرة رغم الموت الذي ينتظرهم في أحضان البحر. الرواية مكتنزة، تخلو من الحشو والثرثرة، قريبة في لغتها من لغة القصة القصيرة، اللغة الشعرية الموحية، الجمل قصيرة وسريعة ومتلاحقة، سرعة وتلاحق الأحداث التي تتدافع لتصل إلى نهاية مفجعة وحزينة.
