تم اختيار عنوان الكتاب الموسوم (دور الإعلام في التوعية والوقاية من حوادث المرور)، لان الإعلام هو المنبه الأول والمحذر والموجه عندما يكون هناك خطر يهدد المواطن والمجتمع ككل، وذلك باستعمال كل وسائله المقرؤة والسمعية والبصرية أولاً. والدافع الثاني فهو لقلة المراجع والدراسات المعمقة حول الموضوع في مدينة أربيل.
يحتوي الكتاب على خمسة فصول، ففي الفصل الأول، تناول الكتاب الاطار العام متضمنة ما يلي: تحديد المفاهيم، أما الفصل الثاني فقد تناول: تأثير وسائل الإعلام على سلوك الأفراد، وتم عرض نظريات تأثير وسائل الإعلام والتأثير من خلال الرسالة الإعلامية، وفي الفصل الثالث تناولت حوادث المرور في مدينة أربيل من حيث تطورها، ودور شبكة الطرق في حوادث المرور، وكذلك دور أجهزة الأمن في السلامة المرورية والحد من ظاهرة حوادث المرور، وفي الفصل الرابع فقد تناول الإعلام ودورها في التوعية والوقاية من حوادث المرور متضمنة دور الإعلام في تناول حوداث المرور، وفي الفصل الخامس حيث تناول التوصيات والمقترحات، والمصادر والملاحق، وملخص الكتابة باللغة الكوردية والإنكليزية.
