  Palm trees include a wide range of plants including coconut trees (Cocos nucifera) and Acai palm trees (Euterpe oleracea) and oil palm trees (Elaeis guineensis) and betel nut palm trees, There are many other varieties, including the areca palm, and the Washington helicopter palm, which are of great importance to Egypt. The importance of the areca palm (Dypsis lutescens) for Egypt mainly in its use as an indoor and outdoor ornamental plant due to its beautiful shape, because it purifies the air and improves its quality, and because it is able to give a natural and elegant decorative atmosphere to the spaces, the Washington fan palm (Washingtonia filifera) is of great importance to Egypt as a common and fast-growing ornamental plant that tolerates various climatic conditions, while the economic and nutritional importance of Cocos nucifera is the use of coconut oil in cooking and cosmetics , coconut pulp is eaten fresh or dried, Elaeis guineensis is a major source of oils that are used in a wide range of products such as soaps, cosmetics, candles, and biofuels
