Hussam Badawi is a researcher in Applied linguistics interested in exploring the role of social media discourse in the Syrian conflict. He is an English Language Trainer and Teacher. A member of the Syrian Academic Trainers Union. He is also a search and rescue volunteer and trainer since 2013. Born and raised in the northwest of Syria. He studied English language literature at both Aleppo and Idlib university. He holds a Master degree in Applied Linguistics. His thesis titled “The Role of Social Media in Protracting the Syrian Conflict: A Critical Discourse Analysis”. He has trained hundreds of students in Syria. His primary interest is Critical Discourse Analysis, and English Language Teaching.
