One day, when I still didn’t know much about Sheikh Ibrahim, he came to see me at the bank, and while he drank his coffee he calmly said to me: “Nazli, I’ve bought a street in London!”.
I would normally hold back any reaction when I heard such things, but this nearly made me fall off my chair!... I could only presume someone had persuaded him to buy it so he could put his name on it and show off to people.
I asked him what he meant when he said he’d bought a whole street. He sipped his coffee, his face expressionless, and said he’d bought the entire side of a street in London, from one corner to the other.
