This is the second book which adopts the same approach; that is communicatively and interactively oriented. It is based on edutainment in that it educates and entertains at the same time. The first one carries the title "Linguistics: A Practical Course for the Study of Language".
This book employs a variety of strategies and techniques that depends on brainstorming, group work, discussion groups, video and image watching, report writing and power point presentations.
The Starter Section, which begins each chapter, aims at directing the student’s attention to the basic topics and terms to be dealt with in the chapter.
The Hint Section, through the images and videos, intends to prepare students for active involvement in the subject, but in an entertaining and easy manner.
The Reminder Section is a summary of the basic terms and information.
The Study Section aims at checking and deepening the student’s knowledge and understanding of the main ideas and important terms presented in the chapter through a variety of questions and exercises.
The book tries to acquire students with basic and introductory issues in Semantics and Pragmatics in a practical and an interesting manner through the mixture of knowledge and entertainment (edutainment).
The book has been supplemented with PowerPoint Presentations covering the ten chapters, and key answers to the Hint and Exercises sections for easy reference.
