وفي العقد الأخير صار موضوع الثقافة العربية-اليهودية مجال البحث المفضّل لدى سنير. يبدو تصوّر الهويّة اليهودية-العربية المشتركة متعذّر اليوم بحكم الوضع السياسي القائم في الشرق الأوسط، بيد أنها كانت حقيقة واقعة قبل الحرب العالمية الثانية، كما هي الحال مع الهويّة اليهودية-الألمانية. شهود هذه الهويّة اليهودية-العربية الممتزجة هم اليهود الناطقون باللغة العربية وشعراؤها. ولا بدّ أن كان لسيرة حياة سنير المشار إليها أعلاه ضلع في هذا الاهتمام. وقد نشر سنير أبحاثه في هذا المجال في لغات مختلفة، وكانت دراسته المركزية في هذا المجال بالعبرية، وهي من حوالي 670 ص: ערביות, יהדות, ציונות: מאבק זהויות ביצירתם של יהודי עיראק (ירושלים: מכון בן צבי, 2005).
