هذا التفسير من أجود كتب التفسير ، فهو على وجازته مكتنز العبارات ، ومؤلفه قد بالغ في تعميق وتركيز عبارته ليشمل الكثير من المعاني في ألفاظ قليلة ، وقد ذكر المأثور من التفسير ، وتناول الجوانب اللغوية بإيجاز ، وذكر الكثير من الإشكالات التي تعرض لقارئ القرآن ودفعها بعبارة سهلة . ورد على أهل الاعتزال والفلسفة ، وقد اعتمد على كتب التفسير المعتمدة كتفسير ابن كثير والبغوي والوسيط ل هذا التفسير من أجود كتب التفسير ، فهو على وجازته مكتنز العبارات ، ومؤلفه قد بالغ في تعميق وتركيز عبارته ليشمل الكثير من المعاني في ألفاظ قليلة ، وقد ذكر المأثور من التفسير ، وتناول الجوانب اللغوية بإيجاز ، وذكر الكثير من الإشكالات التي تعرض لقارئ القرآن ودفعها بعبارة سهلة . ورد على أهل الاعتزال والفلسفة ، وقد اعتمد على كتب التفسير المعتمدة كتفسير ابن كثير والبغوي والوسيط للواحدي والكشاف للزمخشري وأنوار التنزيل للبيضاوي وغيرها ، وأضاف من عنده إضافات قيمة . ودقق في الأسلوب والاختصارات ، فقال مثلا : وكل معنى ذكرنا فيه بصيغة (أو) فما هو إلا للسلف . وما ذكرنا بـ (قيل) فأكثره من مخترعات المتأخرين ، وما ظفرنا فيه بنقل . ونحو ذلك . فهو كتاب محرر دقيق العبارة جداً .
وزاد هذا التفسير قيمة بحاشية العلامة الغزنوي (ت1296هـ) حيث تتبع المؤلف في بعض المواضع التي وقع فيها زلل أو خلل عقدي بالذات فنبه عليه . والكتاب حققه صلاح اليدن مقبول أحمد ، وما يزال الكتاب في حاجة إلى طبعة أكثر إتقاناً تليق بهذا الجهد العلمي الذي بذله الإيجي والغزنوي رحمهما الله .
