تعد ظاهرة الاستلزام الحضاري (Conversational implicature) ظاهرة لصيقة باللغات الطبيعية (Ordinary Languages)، وهو تؤسس لنوع من التواصل يمكن وسمه بالتواصل "غير المعلن" (الضمني)، بحجة أن المتكلم يقول كلاماً ويقصد غيره، كما أن المستمع يسمع كلاماً ويفهم غير ما سمع. وهذا يعني أن التأويل لا يتم بشكل اعتباطي، وإنما تؤطره وتوجهه الظروف المحيطة بالخطاب، من متكلمين وسياق ومقاصد وما إلى ذلك. من هنا بدأ البحث اللساني ينحى منحى متميزاً، فلم يعد الاهتمام ينصبّ على وضع نظريات للخطاب، وإنما عني بعملية التخاطب (التحاور) في حد ذاتها. إن "ظاهرة الاستلزام الحواري" كما تمّ بسطها في هذا البحث، مقاربة وفق منظورين اثنين: الفكر اللغوي القديم والفكر اللساني الحديث، بهدف إثبات أن دراسة الظاهرة عند اللغويين العرب القدماء، وما انتهت إليه من نتائج وما سجلته من ملاحظات، كانت أكفى مما توصل إليه الفكر اللساني الحديث. وبهدف إبراز أيضاً، أن حقول التراث المعرفية – وخاصة البلاغة والأصول – تشكل مجالاً خصباً للدرس التداولي الذي يتعيّن عليه استثمار المعطيات التراثية والاستفادة من النتائج المحرزة فيه. ومن جانب آخر يهدف هذا العمل إلى الرد الضمني على بعض الدراسات اللسانية الحديثة التي نفت وجود أي وعي بمفهوم الاستلزام الحواري في الفكر اللغوي العربي القديم، وربطه بالفكر اللساني الحديث وبعض طروحات تداوليات الخطاب، بقصد بيان أوجه الاختلاف والائتلاف في نطاق التصور النظري وعلى مستوى التطبيق. وقد اقتضى المنهج المتبع "الوصفي التفسيري المقارن" من الباحث تقسيم الدراسة إلى فصلين أساسيين: خصص الأول منهما لمقاربة ظاهرة الاستلزام الحواري في الفكر اللغوي العربي القديم، أما الفصل الثاني، المعنون بالاستلزام الحواري في الفكر اللساني الحديث، فتمّ التركيز فيه، على إبراز أهم ما قدّمه اللسانيون المحدثون بخصوص "الظاهرة". يهدف الكاتب من وراء عمله هذا إلى الكشف عن إشكال قراءة أو إعادة قراءة التراث اللغوي العربي القديم، من منظور متميز من التداوليات الحديثة، بقصد تحديث آليات الوصف القديمة والكشف عن قيمها المعرفية واللسانية، في إطار عام عنوانه: المعرفية اللسانية الحضارية التي تحتّم على الباحثين الانخراط فيها، والتفاعل معها، والمساهمة فيها...
