يقول مؤلف هذا الكتاب في مقدمته: "أما بعد فهذه مقدمة مختصرة لمنظومتي المسماة: "نشر العبير في نظم قواعد التفسير" بينت فيها بعض الحدود والتعاريف تسهيلاً على المبتدئ، وتكميل الانتفاع بالنظم بعبارة واضحة وسهلة، ومن غير تعقيد ولا تنافر، ومن غير استطراد ولا تكرار، لأن الهمم تميل إلى الاختصار المفيد، والإيجاز من القواعد، رجاء أن يكون عوماً وعنواناً على شحذ الهمة، ودفع الذاكرة إلى الأمام، ولا سيما والنظم وعاء صلب لحفظ العلوم الشرعية، وأدعى لضبطه وإتقانه، وأيضاً لما فيه من سهولة العلوم، وتقريبها للأذهان، والإحاطة بأحكامه الضرورية اللازمة.
