New Steps to English is intended for children whose native language is not English. It is designed to teach them to read, understand and speak English. It also includes a workbook, which serves as an application to develop the power of writing to the Arab students.
The lessons in KG1 Book are presented by means of pictures and oral practice. This combination of illustrated and oral English means that the child can always see with his own eyes what he is talking about. The material is carefully graded; each lesson builds on the preceding one. The object of this book is to encourage the children to make the learning process enjoyable to them. Moreover the student develops the necessary skills in those English words and expressions. New Step Series has been designed to help the students:
· To learn basic letter and word forms.
· Introduce the names of new objects.
· Learn new vocabularies and increase speaking.
· Develop the ability of pronunciation.
· Use of colour, which will assist students for more formal reading using the read, write and colour approach.
The content words are aimed to provide a basis for the reading skills.
