This approach can explain Riba-al-Nasiah and Riba-al-Fadl at one and the same time on the basis of the common elements and can solve many operational difficulties that the Islamic banks have been facing.
In this book, in the beginning, the prohibition of Riba in Qu'an and Hadith has been clarified briefly. Then the theories of Interest in modern economies have been discussed so that where they stop, we may commence. So after explaining those theories, the Islamic theory of Interest has been explained and the real nature of Riba and Rent has been clarified. Then, how the public debt with Interest becomes a curse for the government has been shown. It is also shown how the prohibition of Interest in Islam makes public debt smallest possible or almost nil and thus proves to be a blessing for the government and for the people. Then three prominent theoretical models of interest-free banking have been described and analysed. Then the general financial structure of the present-day working Islamic banks has been explained. In order to give the concrete idea of the actual working of an Islamic bank, illustration of the Jordan Islamic Bank for Finance and Investment is taken and its practical working is elucidated with facts and figures.
